9:05 A.M. Held a Board of Equalization meeting. <br /> 9:19 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> 14. CLERK-UPDATE REGARDING CLOSING ADP ACCOUNT WITH WELLS FARGO <br /> Discussion was held on the Wells Fargo account County Clerk Marla Conley stated that one <br /> issue was the unclaimed property checks that need to be transferred to the State. Currently <br /> there are 5 years of unclaimed property check and need to be transferred to unclaimed <br /> property. She checked State Statute 69-1307 it appears that they should be able to dispose of <br /> all but 3 years they are waiting for a confirmation call from the state but will proceed to send <br /> those funds to the state. <br /> County Treasurer Alaina Verplank stated that she has talked to US Bank regarding the fees for <br /> the new direct deposit account and was told it would be $55.00 a month but there is a possibility <br /> that there is an "on point account" that would only have $15.99 per month for the fees she is <br /> waiting for confirmation from the government banking contact person from US Bank to confirm <br /> that information. They will continue to update the board. <br /> Lancaster stated it is important to use the tax dollars carefully. <br /> 4.UPDATE FROM CONGRESSMAN ADRIAN SMITH OFFICE FROM JARED REIMERS — <br /> Jared stated they have an office in Grand Island and Scott Bluff to provide constituents services <br /> and can address case work as it is received. He noted that if there is any way they can provide <br /> assistance they are available for the constituents in the third district. He noted that they have <br /> not been able to provide any assistance with the ARPA fund and they find it difficult to get any <br /> straight answers. He reported the Congressman Smith policy effort was promoted trade he is a <br /> ranking member on the Ways & Means Committee. Now that he is a ranking member of the <br /> committee that will be a significant opportunity for Nebraska because he can bring the Third <br /> Districts issues forward. <br /> He is making a run to be the ranking member or possibly the chairman of Ways & Means <br /> committee and if that turns out well it will be significant opportunity for Nebraska agriculture. <br /> Jared ask if the board had any questions <br /> Scott thank for being here and ask if there was any light on the trade agreement partnerships <br /> Jared said the biggest issue Adrian is trying to fix is the supply chain issues particularly with the <br /> cargo as it heads east and the security of the rail. There needs to be better management of the <br /> cargo and the railyards to be sure to get the cargo into the United States and maintain the <br /> agreements and make sure that they're taking the same amount of cargo back to their counties <br /> as we are accepting that is not happening trade agreements are a priority. <br /> Lancaster thanked him for being here congressman was at the Chamber meeting last week <br /> considering that he may be the chair of the way and means committee will be a big advantage <br /> for Nebraska. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION — Chair Peterson called for public participation and Matt McGuire, <br /> 15346 West Barrows Road, Kenesaw Nebraska requested to address the board. <br /> • He addressed concern that CPNRD is proposing to build a new office building and <br /> people are upset at the cost <br /> 3 <br />
