13 E) FACILITIES UPDATE — Mr. Humphrey stated in the next year or so he will be <br /> losing employees to retirement and he would like to advertise for 2 or 3 employees now <br /> to find some good replacements. He is open for suggestion from the board. <br /> B DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION APPROVING BID FOR OVERHEAD DOORS <br /> Loren stated he talked to both of the contractors and is recommending the low bid from <br /> Mid Plains Construction <br /> Quandt made a motion and Sorensen seconded to accept the low bid from Mid Plains <br /> construction for $20,490.00 and authorize the Chair to sign the contract. Bredthauer, <br /> Hurt, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> The agreement with Merrick County was not on the agenda. Mr. Riehle stated that the <br /> agreement goes to Merrick County next week and it can be addressed on January 18. <br /> 11:12 a.m. Held a break. <br /> 8a COUNTY ATTORNEY — a) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON THREATENED <br /> LITIGATION FROM CRAIG HARRENSTEIN <br /> 8e) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING UNION AGREEMENTS FOR <br /> PUBLIC WORKS (EXECUTIVE SESSION) <br /> 12 E) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE RATIFYING PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE <br /> (EXECUTIVE SESSION) <br /> Sorensen made a motion and Hurst seconded to go into executive session for the <br /> following. There are 2 reasons for an executive session to protect the public interest <br /> and to prevent needless harm or injury to an individual. Bredthauer, Hurt, Lancaster, <br /> Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 8a COUNTY ATTORNEY — a) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON THREATENED <br /> LITIGATION FROM CRAIG HARRENSTEIN — Held executive session from 11:12 A.M. <br /> to 11:23 a.m. <br /> 8e) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING UNION AGREEMENTS FOR <br /> PUBLIC WORKS Held executive session from 11:23 a.m. to 11:43 a.m. <br /> 12 E) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE RATIFYING PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE Held <br /> executive session from 11:43 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to go out of executive session. No <br /> other subjects were discussed no votes were taken and no action was taken. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted <br /> yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Chair Peterson called for action regarding the executive sessions. <br /> 10 <br />
