Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 9:10 a.m. adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION — Chair Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 7. BRAD MELLEMA— DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE VISITOR <br /> IMPROVEMENT FUND GRANT REQUESTS — <br /> Brad Mellema and Dana were present regarding the requests for the visitor improvement <br /> fund grants. Dana is a new employee that will work with these grants. <br /> Lancaster stated that she is the liaison for CVB but does not take part in this process for <br /> the grants. <br /> There were a number of applications and some of them were for large grants but the <br /> numbers were still impacted by COVID. The committee reviewed the applications and <br /> there were 4 that did not qualify and now they are asking for approval of the list. <br /> Dana Jelenck stated they estimated that will be coming in and they have reserve funds. <br /> Brad stated that there was a math error last year of$48,661.00 and he will process a <br /> claim to make he balance the $499,675.00 <br /> Brad reviewed the proposed list. <br /> Fonner equine storage was prepaid October 2021 of$100,000 <br /> Veterans Cemetery approved July 2021 $ 75,000 <br /> GILCA Fonner storage payoff $118,013 <br /> GILCA requested multi-year $100,000 <br /> Husker Harvest Days $ 75,000 <br /> Children's Museum $ 10,000 <br /> Tri City sports complex $ 10,000 <br /> NW Stadium Field project $ 25,000 <br /> Crane Trust viewing site $ 40,000 <br /> Stuhr Museum skating rink $ 10,000 <br /> Cairo Ballfield restrooms $ 10,000 <br /> Doniphan Trap $ 10,000 <br /> Committee recommended $481,387.00 <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the grant request for the <br /> visitors improvement fund. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and <br /> Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 5A) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION TO APPROVE THE APPLICATION AND <br /> AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN THE CERTIFICATION TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION <br /> FOR THE JUVENILE COMMUNITY BASED AID GRANT Randy See Juvenile Diversion <br /> 3 <br />
