9:05 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 9:24 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION — Chair Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 5. TRACY OVERSTREET - DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING STATE <br /> FUNDING FOR ADA DOORS AT POLLING SITES - Election Commissioner Tracy <br /> Overstreet noted that during budget time she applied for a grant for ADA modifications <br /> for polling places. The state cannot do individual contracts with the polling places so <br /> these will be pass through dollars. She contracted Stacey Ruzicka and she can use the <br /> miscellaneous line item in the grant budget for these fees. The state will reimburse the <br /> county for the costs up to $20,000. The claim for Grace Lutheran wasprocessed for <br /> November. There will be 5 additional places that will need the ADA upgrades. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Sorensen seconded to approve paying for the ADA <br /> upgrades from the grant budget miscellaneous line item 791-05-0403 up to $20,000.00. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted <br /> yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Peterson made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the claim to Grace <br /> Lutheran Church for the ADA upgrades from the grant budget. Bredthauer, Hurst, <br /> Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted <br /> no. Motion carried. <br /> Peterson made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the claim from Midland <br /> Area on Aging. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all <br /> voted yes and no one voted no. Quandt abstained. Motion carried. <br /> 7. PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE SORENSEN & BREDTHAUER A) DISCUSSION & <br /> POSSIBLE ACTION TO AWARD MOTOR GRADER BIDS — Scott Sorensen said that <br /> the county received competitive bids and the committee looked at the bids and talked to <br /> the operators and there are a couple options. He noted that there are representative <br /> from each of the companies that submitted bids. He ask if the representative from <br /> Murphy tractor Colt Shafer could address the delivery date. There is a concern on the <br /> strike. <br /> Mr. Shafer said he strike has been resolved and they should go back to work. But they <br /> do not have a timeline. He noted that it may be 4 to 5 months but the order window is to <br /> open up on December 1st. There could be a backlog but no one has been able to order <br /> machines. He does not think it will be an issue but he cannot guarantee a delivery date. <br /> Bredthauer ask about the parts and if there is a backlog on the parts and Mr. Shafer <br /> said that John Deere has suppliers for the factories and they have done well and there <br /> has not been any issues. <br /> 3 <br />
