It would be a shorter distance for Hall County. <br /> Bredthauer stated this was discussed at Region 3 <br /> Bredthauer made a motion and Hurt seconded to approve the amended letter of <br /> agreement with Region 3. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson <br /> and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 10A) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING SICKNACATION LEAVE - <br /> Sorensen stated this regarding employees who are workman's compensation and how <br /> the holiday pay should be addressed. The county handbook is not clear and they would <br /> like the County Board's opinion on how this should be approached the handbook states <br /> it is up to the department head. Normally if there are not hours worked they do not get <br /> the holiday pay. <br /> Bredthauer noted this holiday was not paid but there are future holidays. Conley stated <br /> that normally if there are no hours worked they do not receive the holiday pay but this <br /> needs to be clarified. She noted information from the handbook and from the CWA <br /> agreement. They handle the work compensation and the FMLA the same. <br /> C.L. Stevenson was present and addressed the board regarding the holiday pay he said <br /> he was hurt at work. Lancaster stated it has been handled the same across the county. <br /> He questioned the holiday in May but he had hours worked in May. <br /> Deputy County Attorney Sarah Carstensen stated she talked to Pam Bourne and is <br /> waiting for a response from her. There is a draft of the updated handbook and it will <br /> come back to the county. <br /> Bredthauer noted the new book is not in place and there needs to be an opinion <br /> regarding this. Also the new handbook will have to be approved and all department <br /> head will have to sign off on it. <br /> Sorensen made a motion and Richardson seconded to refer this issue to Pam Bourne <br /> to come back with a recommendation. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 10. PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE — SORENSEN & BREDTHAUER — Sorensen stated <br /> they getting the roads in condition they are getting better. They have had some more <br /> complications on the bridge on Sky Park Road. They did some additional digging and <br /> found some old bridge pilings from the 1930s but it is on schedule. They are working on <br /> driveway culverts. They are demoing a Bobcat Skid steer to see if it would be more <br /> compatible and are looking at the state bids. They are also working on the fuel <br /> reporting system. <br /> The safety audit went well and have some small things to address. They are working <br /> on grinding and crack sealing. The bridge on 70th and Airport road is moving forward. <br /> They are also cleaning up some of the gravel. <br /> 8 <br />
