Lancaster stated ha the board will address Item #8 regarding the keno grant funds for <br /> the Grand Theater later. <br /> 10. DISCUSS AND TAKE ACTION ON OPIOID LITIGATION SETTLEMENTS — <br /> Lancaster stated that the Nebraska Attorney General sent a letter regarding this. The <br /> County could have provided our own documentation regarding the expenses that the <br /> County incurs but it was decided to let the commission move forward with this. <br /> Lancaster stated there were 3 options for the county. The county can sign the <br /> agreements and I was her understanding this could provide funds over number of years. <br /> It would have taken a lot of time for the county to do this on our own. <br /> Sarah said that Option #1 would be the most beneficial for the County. She read <br /> information and when we the sign the agreements as provided, the county would <br /> receive our share of the opioid recovery funds. <br /> Peterson made a motion and Quandt seconded to authorize the appropriate signature <br /> from the County Board Chair or County Attorney to sign the documents. Bredthauer, <br /> Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried <br /> 5.9:30 A.M. BID OPENING FOR COURTHOUSE PARKING LOT — County Clerk Marla <br /> Conley stated that on Monday October 25, she received a phone call at 4:43 p.m. from <br /> Cory Morten with Morten Construction LLC that he was driving his bid to Grand Island, <br /> from Kearney Nebraska and was stopped by road construction. He was asking if he <br /> would be able to still submit the bid and said he would be there by 5:00 p.m. Angie with <br /> the Building Ground Department was at the building and said she would wait for the bid. <br /> The Board agreed to accept the bid from Morten Construction. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to open the bid for the Courthouse <br /> Parking lot. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen <br /> all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br /> The following bids were received. <br /> BIDDER BID BOND TOTAL BID COMPLETION DATE EXCEPTIONS <br /> The Diamond Engineering Co. Enclosed $52,103.68 150 days none <br /> Grand Island, NE <br /> Lacy Construction Co. Enclosed $71,500.00 200 days none <br /> Grand Island, NE <br /> Morten Construction Inc. Enclosed $121,000.00 150 days none <br /> Quandt made a motion and Sorensen second to accept the bids and refer them to <br /> Building & Grounds to come back with a recommendation.
