She stated that not only do the <br /> support the Grand but also the library, project hunger and anyone that comes to the for <br /> free passes for drawings they provide them and also provide gift certificates. They <br /> reach out to other places. Recently they donated funds for a fund raiser for a student <br /> that has cancer. These projects are part of their mission. <br /> COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS — Bredthauer reported that Regional <br /> Planning is working on a new 55 and older subdivision development and there are also <br /> more TIF redevelopment projects. <br /> Sorensen noted that there are lot of TIF developments this is getting out of control. He <br /> questioned the blighted designations in the northwest area. Are they designated <br /> blighted just so they can get TIF funding? <br /> Bredthauer also expressed concern and said that anything property that is over 40 year <br /> old can be designated blighted.it is a good tool but it is over used. Hall County is over <br /> 25%. <br /> Lancaster stated that she testified on LR 232. Senator Friesen was there and there was <br /> concern on why there are such horrific increases of valuation on certain properties. She <br /> noted that it was interesting how there was 10 year period Ag prices increased the <br /> commodity prices were high and people were making money and not a lot of options for <br /> investments so they turned to land investment. Hall county has had large increases and <br /> Hall County was fitting in that range and the state was putting in 3 years of data but no <br /> one can explain market increases were taking place and then why a large increase <br /> appreciated that he took this a studies it.
