Motion carried. <br /> 9:05 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 9:06 a.m. Recessed the Board of Equalization meeting <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chair Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 12. EXECUTIVE SESSION REGARDING PERSONNEL ROAD DEPARTMENT — <br /> STEVE RIEHLE - Sorensen made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to go into <br /> executive session. There are two reasons for an executive session to protect the public <br /> interest or to prevent needles harm of injury to an individual. Bredthauer, Hurst, <br /> Lancaster, Quandt, Peteson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and none voted <br /> no. Motion carried. <br /> 9:07 a.m. executive session regarding personnel <br /> 9:27 a.m. Sorensen made a motion and Hurst seconded to go out of executive session. <br /> No other subjects were discussed no votes were taken and no action was taken. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peteson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes <br /> and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Sorensen stated that they have been working with Steve about changes to the <br /> department and Steve has an announcement moving forward. <br /> Mr. Riehle stated it is important for a department head to work with the County Board <br /> within the department there are issues you can do on your own but also need the <br /> board's direction. They have discussed changes and how it would work and also help <br /> the Highway Department. <br /> In the past there was a Public Works Director and a county engineer and that is the <br /> direction the board wants to go. They want to have a county engineer as an employee <br /> and in the future hire a highway superintendent. This would be the same structure there <br /> was 4 years ago. <br /> Lancaster said the ad will placed and hope to have this addressed in October. Steve <br /> will be the highway engineer and they will hire a highway superintendent. Steve will <br /> retain his present county engineer salary <br /> Sorensen made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to have Steve Riehle serve has the <br /> Hall County Engineer at his present salary and the board will hire a highway <br /> superintendent for Hall County. The Highway superintendent positon currently receives <br /> $15,300.00. The budget amount for this fiscal year for the highway superintendent <br /> 2 <br />
