Held a 5 minutes break <br /> 10:21 a.m. Vice Chair Ron Peterson called the meeting back to order. <br /> 10. PUBLIC WORKS- A) UPDATE & DISCUSSION ON HIGHWAY 2 & 70TH <br /> ROAD/BRIDGE MATCH PROJECT INCLUDING NEW TIMELINE (LANCASTER) <br /> C) PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE - Vice chair Peterson stated that there will not be a <br /> public work report because Mr. Riehle is gone because of medical reasons. Mr. Riehle <br /> provided a time line for the 70th Road project. He called for questions. <br /> Sorensen stated this project has been delayed for 4 to 5 months from the original plan <br /> and they are waiting on firm confirmation that they will be able to get the dollars by the <br /> end of the year. They did not receive a copy of the minutes from the Department of <br /> Roads. Bredthauer stated she did talk to them and they county will have to write a letter <br /> and send it to the Department of Road to show cause why this project is not getting <br /> done. She expressed concern that she does not want to lose the dollars. <br /> 10 B) DISCUSSION & CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL TO ADVERTISE & FILL <br /> VACANT POSITION OF EQUIPMENT OPERATOR - Sorensen stated that they Road <br /> Department had an employee leave and it would be his recommendation to fill the <br /> position. If you look at the amount of vacation time they have built up this position <br /> needs to be filled. <br /> Sorensen made a motion and Hurst seconded to approve advertising and filling the <br /> vacant Equipment Operator position. Bredthauer, Hurst, Peterson, Richardson and <br /> Sorensen all voted yes and no ne voted no. Lancaster and Quandt were absent for the <br /> vote. Motion carried. <br /> Sorensen updated the board on some projects that have been completed. A mile on <br /> 110th Road has been regraded and looks good. They are working with farmer on the <br /> safety issues with the crops. He did get a phone call about needing some gravel but <br /> they were short a couple of loads but they did get it and it has been placed. He also <br /> stated that they completed the project on Husker Highway and Highway 11 and the <br /> State completed the asphalt patching. They are getting projects done and it is going <br /> well. <br /> 10. 10:30 A.M. BID OPENING FOR ALFALFA LEASE ON CAAP GROUND -Sorensen <br /> made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to open the bids for the alfalfa lease. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no ne voted <br /> no. Lancaster and Quandt were absent for the vote.
