COMMMITTEE & BOARD MEMBER REPORTS — Bredthauer reported that Region III <br /> has a new program that will alleviate some of the mental health issues. The proposal <br /> for this work was awarded to Lutheran Family Services. They receive grants to make <br /> this happen. <br /> Peterson stated that the negotiations committee submitted the final proposal to the <br /> Corrections and Sherriff's unions and they are waiting for them to meet and to vote on <br /> the proposed agreements. They will start the negotiations with the Public Defenders <br /> union after this meeting. <br /> Sorensen reported that Stuhr Museum received a donation from the Cairo Fire <br /> Department of a 1936 fire engine. <br /> 8. 10:00 A.M. PUBIC HEARING CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR COLBY & <br /> SAMANTHA ESTERBERG FOR HOME — Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer <br /> seconded to open the public hearing. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that this is a new conditional use permit and the first time that they <br /> have had a request like this. The Esterberg's purchased this property to build a new <br /> home and are requesting to place a camper on this property to live in while the home is <br /> being built. They sold their other home and this will be temporary. They did have to <br /> pay for 5 years and the $500.00 fee because this is the minimum length of time. The <br /> resolution notes the conditions that they will have to follow and they will have to <br /> maintain the property. <br /> Lancaster noted that the City had approved a permit like this 2 blocks from her home <br /> while they were doing renovations to a house and there were not problems and it <br /> worked well. She has no reservations about this. <br /> Sorensen aid this is a 5 year permit and they may not live there for 5 years the home <br /> could be built in less than 2 years. <br /> Bredthauer noted that there are 2 more lost to the south that are just grass now and ask <br /> if there may be more building. It was stated that if so he may be back again. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to close the public hearing. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted <br /> yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 10 B APPROVE RESOLUTION #21-034 <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve Resolution #21-034 <br /> approved the conditional use permit for Colby and Samantha Esterberg for use of the <br /> property as a place to live in a recreational vehicle while constructing a new home. <br /> Bredthauer, Hurst, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no ne voted <br /> no. Lancaster and Quandt were absent for the vote. Motion carried. <br /> 8 <br />
