2
Deputy County Attorney Sarah Carstensen explained that the MOU with Central
Community College, the Red Cross and the PSAP NG 911 GIS are to have documents
that address the ability to actively respond if there is an emergency. For example when
Central Community College offered their facility to hold the jury selection and the trials
during COVID.
Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one
voted no. Richardson was not present. Motion carried.
9:05 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting
9:11 a.m. adjourned the Board of Equalization meting and returned to the regular
meeting
4.DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING AGREEMENT WITH SARPY
COUNTY JUVENILE JUSTICE CENTER DETENTION FACILITY— Deputy County
Attorney Sarah Carstensen reviewed this agreement and it is the same except for the
daily rate previously it was $210.56 and it was increased the per diem rate to $235.00.
This agreement is necessary to be able to house juveniles. The probation office works
hard doing the assessments and we appreciate being able to house them in a facility.
Peterson made a motion and Sorensen seconded to approve the juvenile services
agreement with Sarpy County Juvenile Justice Center detention facility. Bredthauer,
Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no.
Richardson was not present. Motion carried.
8. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING COURTHOUSE SECURITY
CAMERAS — Sheriff Conrad and Loren Humphrey were present. This is regarding the
security cameras on the back of the Courthouse by the egress steps. Initially they
thought they could move the cameras to cover the steps but that will not be possible.
They are proposing to use a camera that they can view and be controlled during the day
but then at night it will be able to pan the area and if movement is detected it will lock on
the issue.
Discussion was held on where the cost would be paid from and Loren stated he has not
check the line items but there should be extra funds for the Courthouse security. They
will find the funds.
Sheriff Conrad stated that he talked to Brandon and the installation can be done in
house.
Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the purchase of the
security cameras for the Courthouse. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson
and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Richardson was not present. Motion
carried.
