DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING ELECTION COMMISSIONERS <br /> ELECTRICAL PROJECT - Tracy stated they are out of plug ins in the office and they <br /> were notified by the Secretary of State they will receive a new ballot counting machine <br /> and it uses a 220 outlet. She is asking for ore electrical outlets. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the electrical upgrades for <br /> the election commissioner. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and none voted no. It is a 1 year contract. The colored ballot printers' ae more expensive so they are <br /> moving to black and white the costs are based on the number of ballot faces that are <br /> printed. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to authorize the chair to sign the <br /> ES&S contract for ballot on demand software and services. Bredthauer, Hurst, <br /> Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and none voted <br /> no. Motion carried <br /> Quandt ask about the census information and Tracy stated that the Speak of the <br /> Legislature has called a special session because they will need to address the <br /> legislative districts and the Board of Regents districts. She said she should have the <br /> census by the end of September then she can work on the precinct lines. The GIS <br /> Department has a program that will work on the precinct lines are based on voter <br /> registration numbers. The lines are based on voters. Northwest Grand Island will have <br /> another precinct and there will be a double precinct at Fonner Park. The Legislature will <br /> have to make some date changes to address the late census because the filing time <br /> line will change. There will only be 6 weeks to file. <br /> COMMITE OR BOARD MEMBER REPORTS - Karen noted the college park issues on <br /> the utility concerns and the possible increase from Northwestern.
