The vote on the motion to approve the agreement with Stacy Ruzicka for the financial <br /> assistance was taken. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson <br /> and Sorensen all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 15. DISCUSS AND TAKE ACTION REGARDING NEW FEDERAL HOLIDAY - <br /> Lancaster stated that it is important to mark the holiday but it will need to be addressed <br /> in the handbook. <br /> Peterson stated that one of the unions has requested to add this holiday. <br /> Lancaster stated that the county currently has 13 holidays and suggested trading Arbor <br /> Day for this new holiday. <br /> Bredthauer noted most counties have 9 paid holidays and with holiday pay they receive <br /> 3 times their regular hourly pay. <br /> Sorensen ask how the county address the holidays most people do not even get these <br /> days off. The county holidays are addressed in the Hall County Handbook and <br /> Peterson stated this is also negotiated with the unions. It is not fair to treat the unions <br /> differently than the nonunion employees. <br /> Lancaster stated this need to be addressed in the handbook and also the dress code <br /> issue. Other counties hare having the same discussions. <br /> COMMITTEE BOARD MEMBER REPORTS Karen Bredthauer stated she attended the <br /> County Board workshop and brought back information from NACO. She noted <br /> comments from the opening session from David Cramer. She also noted that there was <br /> discussion on policies that need to be added to the handbook. <br /> She stated that she talked to Nick with the city GIS system and he has the software to <br /> assist with the county redistricting that will be needed form the new census. Nick stated <br /> that they have the software to do the redistricting. She also stted that the ARAP dollars <br /> would help pay for the redistricting but the city already has the software. There was <br /> also a session regarding mental health issues because of the COVID issues. There <br /> were also breakout session regarding cyber security. Elaine Menzel and Beth Ferrell <br /> with NACO are very knowledgeable regarding the American Rescue Plan Act <br /> Richardson reported that she received an Email from Stuhr Museum and they had 280 <br /> visitors and a revenue of$4,000.00. They are also struggling to find people to work. <br /> Lancaster stted that she attended the NPERS meeting Monday and they will be <br /> distributing a 2.5% dividend to employees. This is great news. <br /> 11 EXECUTIVE SESSION REGARDING USE OF THE AMERICAN RECOVER ACT <br /> ALLOCATION — Sorensen made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to go into <br /> executive session. Lancaster stated there are 2 reasons for an executive session to <br /> protect the public interest and to prevent needless harm or injury to and individual. <br /> 11 <br />
