Sorensen made a motion to approve the Grand Generation center claim Bredthauer <br /> seconded the motion to approve the claim. Karen Bredthauer, Butch Hurst, Pam <br /> Lancaster, Ron Peterson, Jane Richardson and Scott Sorensen all voted yes and Gary <br /> Quandt Voted No Motion Carried. <br /> 16 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING REQUEST FOR <br /> REIMBURSEMENT ON MILEAGE CLAIM.-Lancaster stated this employee has a family <br /> member that is on some medicine that was not covered by County's insurance and they <br /> had to go out of town to Lincoln to pick it up and now is asking for reimbursement on <br /> their mileage. <br /> Peterson stated this could open a can of worms and he made a motion to deny the <br /> claim with Richardson seconding the motion with a statement that this is a slippery <br /> slope. <br /> Karen Bredthauer, Butch Hurst, Pam Lancaster, Gary Quandt, Ron Peterson, Jane <br /> Richardson and Scott Sorensen all voted yes and none voted no. Motion Carried to <br /> deny the claim to be paid. <br /> 20 COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER REPORTS <br /> Richardson stated a lot of good things are happening with the Stuhr Museum. <br /> Peterson stated he was elected president of the Health Board, and stated all three <br /> unions were in negotiations and would be taking some time. <br /> Lancaster stated she met with Judge Carson to discuss Covid dollars there are some <br /> provisions for improving courts they are looking into it and will keep them posted. <br /> Quandt said he had a complaint about many peacocks east of GI, there is no city <br /> ordnance about peacocks. <br /> 21 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE <br /> FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S 30X30 LAND PRESERVATION GOAL-Bredthauer stated <br /> Hall County is small fish considered to other counties she stated the order wants to <br /> conserve 30% of land and water by 2030. Bredthauer stated that Governor Pete <br /> Ricketts is opposed to this, and stated this would affect private land owners. Bredthauer <br /> stated Nebraska has 23 million in range of land in Nebraska and our state is very <br /> desirable with 353,000.000 acres coming on the tax roll, if they took 30% that would <br /> take off 105,000.00 for our tax roll and there would be a shortage in land and food. <br /> Peterson stated he is in favor to oppose but would like more information and for Sarah <br /> to look into it more and having an actual resolution ready, and to bring it back in 2 <br /> weeks. <br /> Lancaster stated we can make our own resolution for Hall County <br /> Peterson made a motion to bring back in 2 weeks, Sorensen seconded the motion. <br />
