This is a big <br /> undertaking and we are up to the challenge. Don stated they have a total of$164,000. <br /> Richardson noted it is a nationally funded state cemetery and anyone can be buried <br /> there even if they do not live in Nebraska. <br /> Peteson ask how many are buried there now and how large it would be and John stated <br /> they will be working to determine that. John stated that now some are asking for <br /> cremation and so there may be more spaces than there was 10 years ago. They may <br /> look at a smaller lot for cremations burial. They try to make it a personal and a family <br /> event. They also have shadow boxes with pictures or memorials. <br /> John stated he was in the legislature from 1995 to 2001 <br /> Don stated here are currently 1400 graves. <br /> Quandt thanked Don and Pam for their part on the hero flight. People are looking for a <br /> memorial place for veterans. Gary will see what he can do. <br /> John is asking all Veteran's posts to participate. <br /> Lancaster stated the Hero Flight is a 5013C and they have changed their mission to the <br /> cemetery. They are not forming another 5013C just changed the mission. Quandt also <br /> stated that WWII and WWI and Vietnam veterans will be honored to be buried in a <br /> cemetery <br /> John stated that Alliance has a foundation that continues to support the cemetery they <br /> have funded heaters and Plexiglas they continue to have a relationship with the <br /> foundation. Don stated it is going to take everyone to make this happen. <br /> 6. COUNTY ATTORNEY— a) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING <br /> ASSESSOR'S OFFICE SOFTWARE - Deputy County Attorney Sarah Carstensen <br /> provided a draft of the RFP and talked to Kristi about her suggested changes and Sarah <br /> said she tried to address the issues we have had in the past. <br /> Lancaster stated that Sarah did a lot of this on her own regarding the RFP and tried to <br /> address the issue of the information not transferring and what they want the software to <br /> do. <br /> 4 <br />
