7 <br /> Lancaster stated that these were long meeting and the goal is to not see the peaks and <br /> valleys on the renewals. The county has adequate reserves and it is a good plan for the <br /> employees. <br /> The committee is scheduled to meet again and look at the RX program and look at <br /> assistance programs for the high cost medications. It is good to look at other options. <br /> Peterson noted that the dental plan will now include a PPO plan that would provide <br /> saving through a dental network. There is no change in the benefit but there could be <br /> some savings. There was also discussion on Telemed and its use. <br /> Bredthauer made a motion and Peterson seconded to approve the 9% increase on the <br /> medical premiums. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and <br /> Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Held a short break. <br /> 7. PUBLIC WORKS-A)REQUEST TO WAIVE THE REQUIREMENT OF SEALED BIDS <br /> FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF SANITARY SEWER SERVICE TO THE WOOD RIVER <br /> MOTOR GRADER SHED — Steve Riehle stated that the sanitary sewer pipe used paper <br /> and wax and it has collapsed. They current have a porta-potty set up. He is requesting <br /> to waive the requirement for sealed bids and to approve the quote from the plumber. <br /> Lancaster noted that there has been a porta-potty there for 3 weeks but expressed <br /> concern that the dollar amount was exposed and they do not have any options now. <br /> Steve stated he understands the dollar amount should have not been stated. <br /> Richardson made a motion and Sorensen seconded to waive the requirement for sealed <br /> bids. <br /> Quandt stated he should have let the board know there are other plumbing services. <br /> Hurst stated that the company would have to have the right equipment because this a <br /> long stretch that has to be replaced. With all of the new construction it is difficult to get <br /> one. <br /> Steve stated that when he realized the extent of work needed he told them to stop and <br /> submit a proposal and he realizes he should have not published the amount. <br /> The vote on them motion was taken. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> B) CONFIRMATION OF THE AWARD OF THE $8,852 BID PROPOSAL TO O'HARA <br /> PLUMBING CO., INC. OF GRAND ISLAND TO REPLACE THE SANITARY SEWER <br /> SERVICE TO THE WOOD RIVER MOTOR GRADER SHED — Richardson made a <br /> motion and Sorensen seconded to approve the bid to O'Hara Plumbing to replace the <br /> 7 <br />
