Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to send letters to the Senators and Governor <br /> to let them know what is happening and ask for their help. The letters could also be sent to the <br /> federal delegations. Discussion was held to work with Mr. Shuda to send the same message. <br /> Richardson stated she would like to see the content of the letter we need to be careful how we <br /> proceed they will Sarah Carstensen look at the letter. <br /> Mr. Wilson stated he would like to stay in his home. <br /> Lancaster stated we should be grateful to hi for our freedom and it is not a respectful way to <br /> treat our seniors. She thanked Mr. Shuda and Mr. Hitch. <br /> Hurst questioned why they would not talk to anyone. Richardson ask if Mr. Wilson has an <br /> attorney and he does. <br /> The vote on the motion to send the letters was taken. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, <br /> Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 5.9:30 a.m. PUBLIC WORKS BID OPENING FOR CORRUGATED PIPE CULVERTS, <br /> HEADWALLS &WING WALLS - Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to open the <br /> bids for the corrugated pipe culverts. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, <br /> Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Steve stated he had talked to the NRD about possible funding and the size of the culverts but <br /> the projects are on different drainage paths. <br /> The following bids were received. <br /> BIDDER TOTAL BID NOTES COMPLETION DATE <br /> Ace/Eaton Metals $36,013.42 No notes 18—24 weeks after approval <br /> Kearney, NE <br /> Midwest Service & Sales $37,211.20 headwalls welded 8 —9 weeks <br /> Schuyler, NE front & back side to <br /> culvert flush on front <br /> & around back <br /> Steve stated the bids were close and he would like to review them and also look at the culverts <br /> to see if they can wait the 18 to 24 weeks. He will come back in 2 weeks. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Sorensen seconded to refer the bids to public works and come back <br /> in 2 weeks. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all <br /> voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Quandt ask about the Homestead Drive drainage issues. <br /> Steve state he will finalize the design before the asphalt patching starts in 2 to 3 weeks. There <br /> will 1 1/2 days of ditch work and they will also have tear out 1 more culvert. Tom Hanson called <br /> Gary and Scott that he had water in his basement Steve stated that the ditches were drained <br /> out and once they start pumping it will drain but this will not have an impact on the ground water <br /> 4 <br />
