Lancaster stated she ask Bailey Gibson and Scott Peters to come in. Bailey will be <br /> leaving employment with Hall County and today is her last day. Pam stated she want to <br /> tell Bailey how much she will be missed. With county government there is not always <br /> the opportunity to move up and she is extremely talented and we certainly do not want <br /> to hold her back. She has given her heart and soul to her work and has assisted <br /> multiple offices. <br /> Scott Peters stated Bailey helped him learn everything in both departments and <br /> appreciates what she has done. She will be greatly missed. They were a great team. <br /> Bailey stated she appreciates what she has learned here and her time with Hall County. <br /> Quandt stated that constituents do not always have contact with all of the offices but <br /> they complemented her on her work. <br /> Lancaster noted that Dylan has also left the GIS office and moved to be closer to family. <br /> So the office is down 2 people. <br /> 9:10 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 10:45 adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> 5A) RECEIVE & PLACE ON FILE LETTER OF RESIGNATION FROM VALORIE <br /> BENDIXEN CLERK OF THE DISTRICT COURT - Clerk of the District Court Valorie <br /> Bendixen submitted her resignation December 23, 2020. <br /> Lancaster stated that they accept her letter of resignation with regret and thanked her <br /> for her service. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to accept the letter of resignation <br /> from Clerk of the District Court Valorie Bendixen with regret. Bredthauer, Hurst, <br /> Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorenson all voted yes and none voted <br /> no. Motion carried. <br /> 5B) DISCUSS & TAKE ACTION ON REPLACING ELECTED POSITION OF CLERK OF <br /> THE DISTRICT COURT - Valorie stated she appreciates the opportunity to speak to the <br /> board. <br /> Quandt noted the issue with the lectriver and how she has worked with the board and <br /> saved taxpayer's dollars. <br /> Valorie stressed the importance of continuity and consistency with her particular job. <br /> The Clerk of the District Court is the central nervous system of the courts. They review <br /> the state statutes and the decision have a ripple effect throughout the courts. The action <br /> of the sheriff depends on what they do. She is proud of the work they do and suggested <br /> considering appointing someone from inside her office. They recently hired a person <br /> 2 <br />
