Lancaster questioned the warranty the unit has 82 hours and they usually go up to 500
or 600 hour range when it may have some issues.
Sorensen made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to purchase the planer form
Murphy Equipment for $19,000.00.
Lancaster questioned if they should consider the warranty.
Peterson ask the cost of repairs and it could be $3,000.00. Discussion was held and
Sarah Christensen stated the warranty would be part of the deal.
The vote on the motion to purchase the planer was taken. Bredthauer, Hurst,
Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and none voted
no. Motion carried.
C) DISCUSSION & CONSIDERATIO OF DECLARING SURPLUS EQUIPMENT TRICK
CRANE, RUBBER TIRE EXCAVATOR AND 2014 COLD PLANER - Discussion was
held on the zipper that was used to deplane the roads at CAAP it may only be used one
more time they may consider it as surplus later. Steve noted that when they purchased
the rubber tire excavator they were under the impression it would go 30 miles an hour
but it only goes 13 miles an hour. They may consider purchasing a grade all in the
future that would do down the road at 50 miles an hour. Bredthauer noted this was a
smaller version and it has not been used for 6 months id does not do what it was
intended to do. The truck crane has not been used and they could sell it for what they
paid for it. If the cold planer would only sell for $500.00 Steve stated he would keep it if
it sells good he would sell it.
Peterson made a motion and Hurst seconded to sell the surplus equipment with the
option to retain the cold planer if it does no sell. Bredthauer, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt,
Peterson, Richardson and Sorensen all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
7DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTUIN REGARDING WOOD RIVER ROAD WEST OF
NEBRASKA HWY 11 & 1r ROAD EAST OF NEBRASKA HWY 11 FROM FALL 2018
RESURFACING CONTRACT — Mr. Riehle that the contract was awarded to JIL they
started on the project at the truck stop in Alda and then moved to Wood River Road.
They had numerous problems and used the pyelograph to measure the smoothness
and in December 2018 and in September 2019 used the diamond grinder to address
the smoothness of the road. There are still section that need to be ground again. JIL
was out 2 weeks ago running a straight edge on Wood River Road but the bumps did
not show up. Steve stated there still areas on the Cairo project that need to be ground.
He met with JIL 2 weeks ago at the Cairo project and this company has the same type
of equipment but it does not require water but the bumps have to be marked. They do
not use the straight edge they use the pyelograph to determine the bumps. You can
feel the bumps when you drive the road. There has been discussion and concern when
you grind the road it breaks the surface of the road so do you grind the road and then
check for smoothness or access the penalty.
5
