HALL COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING OCTOBER 13, 2020 <br /> The Hall County Board of Commissioners convened October 13, 2020 by published call <br /> in the County Board meeting room, 121 South Pine Street, Grand Island NE. <br /> CALL TO ORDER- The meeting was called to order by Pam Lancaster <br /> INVOCATION was given by Steve Johnson <br /> PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE was given in unison. <br /> ROLL CALL-Present on roll call were Karen Bredthauer, Richard Hartman, Butch Hurst, <br /> Pam Lancaster, Gary Quandt, Ron Peterson and Jane Richardson. Also present were <br /> Sarah Carstensen, Deputy County Attorney and board assistant Kim Dugan <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW- Chair Lancaster read the notice of open meeting <br /> law. <br /> REQUEST TO RESERVE TIME —Chair Lancaster called for anyone from the audience <br /> had requested to reserve time and no one responded. <br /> HALL COUNTY EXTENSION UPDATE - INTRODUCTION OF NEW ENGAGEMENT <br /> ZONE COORDINATOR HILARY MARICLE - Hilary Maricle and D'Ette Scholtz from the <br /> extension office were present. Hilary is the Hall County Zone Coordinator. She lives in <br /> Albion and works with the University of Nebraska, her zone covers 9 counties. As a <br /> zone coordinator she works with the team to connect the University of Nebraska with <br /> the communities. She finds out the community's needs and what they can do to serve <br /> them better. <br /> Richardson ask how many zones there are and Hilary stated there are 11 zones and <br /> this is a permanent position. <br /> Hilary thanked the board for the opportunity to address the board and encouraged them <br /> to contact her. <br /> Quandt noted that in the past the board give the Chair authority to act on COVID issues. <br /> With the numbers going up and now Buffalo County has closed some of their building <br /> he would like to give the chair the authority to act on Covid issues. <br /> Lancaster stated this is not on the agenda and is not an emergency so it could be <br /> addressed in 2 weeks. If issues come up she will contact Sarah Carstensen. <br /> 1 <br />
