6. PUBLIC WORKS 9:45 AM INFORMAL BID OPENING FOR ROAD DEPARTMENT <br /> VENTILATION SYSTEM. The following bids were received. <br /> Meyer's Heating & Air $6,900.00 completion date 11/30/2020 <br /> Island Indoor Climate $11,950.00 completion date 11/1/2020 <br /> Jerry's Sheet Metal $9,600.00 60 days from acceptance. <br /> The bids were referred to Mr. Humphrey and Steve Riehle will review them and come <br /> back with a recommendation on October 13, 2020. <br /> 17. RECEIVE & PLACE ON FILE LETTER FROM HISTORIC SURPLUS PROPERTY <br /> PROGRAM-Lancaster and Loren Humphrey discussed letter that was sent and returned <br /> to Loren as contact person, Lancaster just wanted to make sure it was getting handle <br /> correctly. Doon stated that if any change is made in Federal Building he has to notify the <br /> National Park Service and State Historical Preservation office. He stated they were real <br /> easy to work with and was taking care of it. <br /> Quandt made motion to place letter on file from historic surplus property Bredthauer <br /> seconded. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Quandt, Lancaster and Peterson all voted yes <br /> and none voted no. Richardson was absent. Motion Carried. <br /> 9:55 am break <br /> 10:00 back in session <br /> 8. 10:00 am NEBRASKA CENTRAL RAILROAD PRESENTATION <br /> Jason Kersh and Taylor Kelly were present from the railroad and presented a slide <br /> show, stating how they have made it safe and changes they have made to the railroad <br /> and blocking intersections. Kelly stated that they pull in the yard backwards for normal <br /> operations and should not have to stop in town, if they are going to block intersections <br /> for longer than 10 minutes they have to call management. . <br /> Quandt thanked them and commended them for finding a solution on their own <br /> Bredthauer thanked them for working with them. <br /> Lancaster stated they have been pleasant to work with and our community and children <br /> will be safer now. <br /> 27.DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON RAILROAD TASKFORCE - Quandt stated <br /> he thought would be a good idea to conform a task force of couple board members and <br /> city officials and railroad to maybe meet annually to discuss any concerns that way be <br /> better communication between them all. <br />
