e) Discussion & Consideration of approval to purchase a 48" CMP with headwalls from <br /> Ace Irrigation & Mfg. Co. of Kearney, NE for $5,600.00 — Steve stated that this is the <br /> culvert under Nine Bridge Road there was a pot hole and after they inspected it they <br /> found that the culvert was not reinforced so it will collapse and needs to be replaced. <br /> Hartman made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to approve the purchase of a 48" <br /> CMP with headwalls from Ace Irrigation & Mfg. of Kearney for $5,600.00 for the <br /> replacement culvert. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt Peterson and <br /> Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Bredthauer stated that the Safety Committee met and this has been discussed several <br /> times and they need to address the proposal to repair the shop floor and to improve the <br /> ventilation system. She said they just need one of the ventilation systems they listened <br /> to the workers and need to move forward, this proposal will also be cost effective. <br /> 16. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING LIBRARY CONTRACT— <br /> Lancaster stated that she put this on the agenda. Richardson stated that there is to be <br /> a committee meeting regarding this contract after the board meeting the City is <br /> proposing a 3 year agreement there are suggesting $37,000 the first year , $48,000 the <br /> second year and $60,000 for the third year. City Attorney Jerry Janulewicz provided <br /> them with information for the proposal. Discussion was held and the board did not <br /> agree with those terms. <br /> Hartman made a motion and Peterson seconded to off the city a proposal for $27,000 <br /> for the next three years. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt Peterson and <br /> Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> BID OPENING FOR SECURITY FIXTURES —Tod Bahensky returned with the bids and <br /> stated that he tried to get the bid information out in advance. He is recommending to <br /> accept the bid from Sentry Security Fasteners, Peoria, IL for $8,234.70. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Peterson seconded to award the bid to Security Fix trues for <br /> $8,234.70. Bredthauer, Hartman Hurst. Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Richardson <br /> all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> BID OPENING FOR MULTI USE COOKER —Todd stated that the 2 bids were exactly <br /> to the specifications but the bid from Great Lakes Hotel Supply was $24,338.00 with an <br /> additional $637.00 freight and the other bid from Douglas Equipment, Bluefield, WV for <br /> $24,410.71 had the freight included. He is recommending the bid from Douglas <br /> Equipment. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to accept the bid from Douglas <br /> Equipment for $24,410.71. Bredthauer, Hartman Hurst. Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson <br /> and Richardson all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 9 <br />
