are Wood River and Doniphan higher. He also expressed concern on the home
delivered meals at $91,368 and they may not be reimbursed for some of the meals.
They need to be prepared for the future and may need to discuss other revenue
streams that could be used if the contract with MAAA goes away He is concerned on
the funding and also the agreement.
Richardson stated that on a good note she stated the drive through meals went well
they may not have toe social meals but the meals were continued.
Quandt suggested that they ask Casey with MAAA to come to the next meeting.
Jay stated that the next MAAA meeting is in August.
10:3 a.m. Held a Board of Corrections Meeting
10:40 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Corrections meeting and returned to the regular
meeting.
9.DISCUSSION &POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING STATE JUVENILE PROBATION
REQUEST FOR 4 ADDITIONAL OFFICES - Lancaster stated that she and Mr.
Humphrey talked to the Connie Hultine with the probation department and they will be
hiring 4 additional probation officers. The state covers the cost of the employees but
the county is responsible to provide the space. Lancaster stated that Connie has
worked with them in the past regarding space and equipment but there will not be room
in the Plaza Building. They are currently in the Plaza building and the Office Building.
But the additional 4 officers would have to be in another building. They talked to County
Attorney Marty Klein regarding the juvenile diversion office they're currently located in
the Office building so he has employees in 3 different buildings.
Mr. Klein suggested that perhaps moving he juvenile diversion office to the federal
building where the county child support office is located it would condense his office to 2
buildings instead of 3. Marty and Robyn looked at the Federal Building and there is
space that would work there. Marty stated it would make sense to consolidate his
department in 2 buildings. There is also space in the annex but he would still be in 2
locations. Juvenile Services Director Randy See stated that it makes sense but there
will be renovations and the 1700 square feet is almost double and they really do not
need any additional space
Lancaster stated that there are other options they could find 4 offices for probation
somewhere else like the annex building. They need to look at the long term and they do
not know the cost.
It was noted that there is a kitchen area and a large conference room that is not being
used. There could be some restrictions in the Federal Building but this needs to be
addressed.
4
