FACILITIES UPDATE - Mr. Humphrey stated that the Courthouse windows are in town, they <br /> were delivered to Mid Plains. He also stated he has the final stamped plans for the fire <br /> suppression and the egress. This will be on the next agenda to set the bid opening. Discussion <br /> was held if this has been budgeted and it has. <br /> 19. PUBLIC WORKS — a) DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON HOOKER BROTHERS <br /> CONSTRUCTION COMPANY PROPERTY FOR SALE AT 2510 S NORTH ROAD — Mr. Riehle <br /> stated that he received a call regarding the property at 2510 S North Road that is for sale. He <br /> provided a copy of the ad for the Hooker Brother property. It is up the board what they want to <br /> do. They would need a bigger building for the trucks this one would hold 8 truck and they have <br /> 10. He noted that there is not a wash bay and the office space is twice the size of their current <br /> space. It is up to the board if they want information. <br /> Bredthauer ask about the metal Quonset compared to our current truck shed. Steve stated that <br /> the walls are curved and here is a dividing wall down the middle of the building and there would <br /> need to be lighting installed. He noted that the shop area is twice the size of ours Bredthauer <br /> noted that the tuck shed in Buffalo County has crushed rock floors. Discussion was held on the <br /> underground storage tanks and we currently have 2. They also have exhaust for the welding <br /> area. Steve stated the shop space is twice the size as ours but the truck storage is less and <br /> may have to add another building for that at an estimated cost of$104,000.00. <br /> Bredthauer questioned how much was in the fund for the repairs to the current Road <br /> Department Building and there was $500,000. Steve stated they have currently used $18,000 <br /> for the fence gate, $4,500.00 moving the sign department to the Weed Department building, <br /> $1,000.00 for sign racks and plywood so about $49,000 so there is a balance of$451,000. She <br /> also stated that DA Davidson can provide short term notes and the county could secures a bond <br /> for half a million on a 2 year note. <br /> Richardson stated the $900,000 is the asking price and the county could look at it. <br /> Hartman sated it is a nice looking building but there is not enough room for the equipment. The <br /> county does not need to buy any new buildings. <br /> Richardson expressed concern butting more money into a 1930 building. The board needs <br /> more information. <br /> 7 <br />
