Bredthauer, <br /> Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Motion carried <br /> BID OPENING ON FEDERAL BUILIDNG FRONT STEP REPAIR — Mr. Humphrey stated that <br /> he called both of the bidders and Baltazars only bid the limestone and he also made sure that <br /> the railings were included. Mid Plains used a company out of Concordia Kansas and there were <br /> higher than the other places on the basic limestone. There is $70,000 budgeted and he is <br /> recommending to go with the low bid of$67,219.00 from Baltazars. They did not bid the <br /> concrete. <br /> Richardson made a motion Peterson seconded to award the bid to Baltazars for the front step <br /> replacement at the Federal Building. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson <br /> and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br /> FACILITIES UPDATE — Mr. Humphrey reported that they did a walk through for the fire <br /> suppression and they want to have the county take temperature reading in the Courthouse attic <br /> to determine if they can use a wet system and they have to make sure it does not freeze. The <br /> attic temperature was 45 degrees. <br /> He stated that they will have to put up some scaffolding in the rotunda and ask if they could <br /> consider painting the rotunda at the same time. He also stated that he has some drawings of <br /> the proposed outside egress and it is a nice drawing but it may interfere with the Judges <br /> parking. They will know more later but that parking area needs to be repaired. He stated he will <br /> have more information for the January 21St meeting. <br /> He also reported that the windows manufacturer and John Giesenhagen may have to push the <br /> time line for the window replacement. The company is trying to get caught up on their orders. <br /> He had to replace an electric motor in the Federal Building they hired contractor to replace the <br /> bearings. It is a 330 pound motor and they had to remove some of the floor to get it out the stirs <br /> are very narrow. It cost $800.00 to make the repairs. He also stated that the Preservation <br /> office will be doing the inspection of the Federal Building. <br /> The boiler at the HHS Building at 116 South Pine has been losing water and it is getting worse <br /> and they cannot find the leak. He will have more information for January 7th for the <br /> specifications to replace the system. He has $35,000 budgeted for this. <br /> 7 <br />
