7.E) DISCUSSION & CONSIDERATION OF APPROVING GRANT APPLICATION TO NDOT <br /> FOR COUNTY BRIDGE MATCH PROGRAM FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGE PROJECT <br /> C40(372) ON SKY PARK ROAD NORTH OF CHAPMAN ROAD - Mr. Riehle stated that the <br /> Nebraska Department of Transportation administer the County Bridge Match Program. The <br /> program will reimburse up to 55% of the construction cost to replace structurally deficient county <br /> bridges. Hall county was awarded bridge match program funds for the replacement of a timber <br /> bridge Project#C40(340) on 70th Road between Airport Road and NE Highway #2 with a <br /> concrete box culvert. This project is to be completed before December 31, 2021. <br /> He stated the following were eligible bridges for the County Bridge Match Program in Hall <br /> County. <br /> C00402005 Old Potash road east of McGuire Road has a lot of water that runs through it <br /> C04002605 Schimmer Drive east of 190h road needs to be replaced <br /> C004023715P Nine Bridge Road north of Elm Island Road is a timber bridge and they should <br /> not spend a lot of money on it <br /> C004013795P Nine bridge road south of Elm Island Road (Witches Bridge) was moved from <br /> Platte County in 1960 and they are not going to replace it <br /> He stated the best candidate is the Sky Park Road Bridge north of Chapman Road. This has to <br /> be completed by 2023. They have federal fund purchase dollars set aside to pay for the county <br /> portion. Steve stated that they could bid it out or the county can partner to do the demolition <br /> and grading and the contractor can build the bridge. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Pe4tersoseconded to apply for the County Bridge match Program <br /> grant for the bridge on Sky Park Road north of Chapman Road. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, <br /> Lancaster, Quandt, Peteson and Richardson all voted yes ad none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Lancaster noted that Mr. Niemoth stated that the ditches had been mowed and maintenance <br /> has been done. There is just a lot of water. <br /> Steve stated that he surveyed the area on Benfield Road that Rex Hoffman expressed concern <br /> about the he thinks there should be a culvert installed but it may be better to do some ditch work <br /> it could cause water to back up on neighboring property. <br /> Bredthauer questioned how they would keep track of the in kind work and Steve stated that it <br /> will be assigned a project number and they will keep track by using that number it will also track <br /> the employee's salary and benefits. <br /> Quandt ask how many culverts need to be replaced and Steve stated there are 16 culverts to be <br /> put in. He also stated that there was a twin culvert that they patched in Amick Acres and they <br /> will have to come back and replace it. <br /> Bredthauer stated that there were 200 that were compromised on the list. Steve stated they <br /> usually do a certain number every year. They hope to do them next year if there is no flooding. <br /> 11 <br />
