7. PUBLIC WORKS —A) AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN ANNUAL CERTIFICATION OF <br /> PROGRAM COMPLIANCE & RESOLUTION — Information was included in the packet regarding <br /> this change in paperwork. <br /> Peterson made a motion and Richardson seconded to authorize the chair to sign the Annual <br /> Certification of Program Compliance and approve Resolution 19-175. Bredthauer, Hartman, <br /> Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> B) RECEIVE AND PLACE ON FILE THE HALL COUNTY HIGHWAY QUARTERLY REPORT— <br /> Mr. Riehle stated that this report is required by state statute it includes the invoices and payroll <br /> costs for projects. <br /> Richardson made a motion and Hartman seconded to place on file the public works quarterly <br /> report. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Richardson all voted yes <br /> and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Bredthauer noted the salary amounts that were listed and ask if there are different rates <br /> charged for different projects and Steve stated this is the hourly wage only. <br /> Lancaster noted that the overtime line item in his budget has gone over and they will have to <br /> watch that line item. There had been discussion that FEMA dollars would cover some of this but <br /> they have only approved 4 projects. Steve stated that they will have to stay in the total <br /> personnel budget. <br /> C) DISCUSSION & CONSIDERATION OF AWARDING BID FOR POWERED GATE AT THE <br /> HALL COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT— Mr. Riehle stated that the bid opening was <br /> held October 15th he had estimated $12,000 or$13,000 for the gate and he budgeted. The only <br /> bid received was from American Fence Company Grand Island for $18,990.00 and he budgeted <br /> $15,000.00He stated that this bid is reasonable bid and is recommending to award the bid to <br /> American Fence Company. <br /> Richardson made a motion and Peterson seconded to award the bid to American Fence for the <br /> $18,990.00. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Richardson all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Hartman expressed concern that they did not receive a bid on the shed doors. Steve stated that <br /> he contacted some companies for quotes so he would have a budget number. He sated he can <br /> try and contact some companies. He explained that he talked to a contractor regarding the <br /> engineering and the building will not support any more weight. Bredthauer suggested calling <br /> Overhead Door or Pioneer Doors and Steve stated he will contact them. <br /> Peterson complemented Steve about the response that his department has given to the people <br /> in Amick Acres they appreciated the response and are excited to work with him on this project. <br /> PUBLIC WORKS UPDATE — Mr. Riehle sated he submitted the report from Big Iron on the <br /> surplus property. <br /> He also reported that Engleman road has been paved and it is a nice smooth Road and <br /> Engleman Road was paved and it was opened yesterday. <br /> 10 <br />
