4C) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING NIRMA ASSIST GRANT— Deputy <br /> County Attorney Sarah Carstensen questioned if any grants had been submitted to NIRMA <br /> regarding the safety measures for the county. County Sheriff Rick Conrad stated that they <br /> submitted a grant application last week. She stated that the deadline is tomorrow if there are <br /> any more applications. <br /> D) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON COURTHOUSE WINDOWS - Mr. Humphrey <br /> provided a copy of the letter from Allied Window Inc. regarding the windows for the Courthouse <br /> they explained in the letter that they have a backlog and had to hire new employees and stated <br /> shop employees are working 50 to 60 hours a week. Loran stated that he also contacted Mid <br /> Plains but they have not called him back and he will try to contact them again. The bid was in <br /> October 2018 and the contract was signed a couple of month ago because they had to have <br /> additional measurements. <br /> Quandt noted they wanted $3,700.00 to come out and measure the windows. Loran stated that <br /> the county did not measure the windows. Quandt stated thee should have been a completion <br /> date on the contract. <br /> Loran stated that this is one of the companies in the nation that build historic windows. He also <br /> noted that all of the windows on the bottom floor have been painted. <br /> Lancaster also stated that there should have been a completion date in the contract. <br /> E) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON HONEYWELL SERVICE AGREEMENT - Mr. <br /> Humphrey stated that he contacted Honeywell regarding the contract with the county and <br /> discussed how they could lower the cost. This proposal is called a flex program to do the <br /> preventative maintenance and the water treatment. Mr. Humphrey noted that with this flex <br /> program if a thermostat would go bad they would do the repairs but we would be charged for the <br /> repairs. With the old service contract they would fix it but there would be no charge to the <br /> County. The current cost is $4,650.00 a month with the new contract it would be $3,244.00 a <br /> month so there would be $7,000.00 or $8,000.00 in savings. <br /> Loran stated there would be some risk on the possible cost of repairs but the bigger items are <br /> already budgeted for. He feels comfortable with this agreement and he reports to the board <br /> when things are repaired. <br /> Bredthauer made a motion and Peterson seconded to approve the Honeywell service <br /> agreement. . Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Richardson all <br /> voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> F) ADDED 8:45 A.M. 10/28/2019 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING LEASING <br /> COMPACT TRACK LOADER - Noted the information that was received yesterday discussion <br /> Hurst noted that the lease is $4200 a year and every year it is a new unit as long as it is kept <br /> under 200 hours. Mr. Humphrey stated they did not have any problems with the unit this year. <br /> Hurst made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to continue to lease the compact track loader <br /> for the building and grounds department. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, <br /> Peterson and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Lancaster noted items #14 executive session regarding IT and #15 regarding purchase <br /> requests to the county board she ask the board to review this and it will come back in 2 weeks. <br /> 9 <br />
