14. FACILITIES—A) DISCUSSION REGARDING REPAIRS FOR CLERK OF THE DISTRICT <br /> COURT - Quandt noted that this was discussed at budget time and ask Mr. Humphrey if it has <br /> been fixed. He stated that it does not fit right and it is an oversized door. They are trying to find <br /> a door that will be secure. Quandt ask if they could make a dead bolt but Loran stated it is <br /> difficult to change this door. <br /> B) DISCUSSION &POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING LETTER FROM FRED HOTZ GRAND <br /> ISLAND FIRE DEPARTMENT a copy of the letter from Mr. Hotz was distributed to the board <br /> members regarding the fire suppression. They encourage the exits and also the automatic fire <br /> suppression system. <br /> Loran Stated that Mr. Kissler was not available because of a death in the family so as soon he is <br /> back he will get in touch with him. Quandt noted that the county would have to approve the <br /> second agreement with Cannon Moss Brygger. This will be addressed in 2 weeks. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that the DHHS renovation is going well but they will have to remove some <br /> of the sidewalk in order to put in he steps. If not it would not be level and it would cause a trip <br /> hazard. This would be a $700.00 change order discussion was held and this was not on the <br /> agenda but could be addressed at the August 12, 2019 agenda. DHHS is moving out of the <br /> building this week to paint the inside of the building and replace the furniture. Lancaster ask <br /> about the old furniture and if anyone is interested they can pick it up. <br /> Steve Riehle stated that there are unit prices for the sidewalk and for moving the sidewalk but it <br /> is easier to have the change order to balance the total bid. Anytime there are change orders it <br /> changes the contract. Discussion was held this can be addressed at the August 12th meeting to <br /> authorize the chair to sign the change order. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that the windows for the Courthouse will be delivered September 9th <br /> 6. COUNTY ATTORNEY — DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING REQUEST BY <br /> OHIO CASUALTY REGARDING ICMS —this is regarding unpaid labor bill from Middleton <br /> Electric for work that they performed at the Federal Building. Deputy County Sarah Carstensen <br /> read the letter regarding this issue. The Claim specialist contacted Sarah Carstensen and they <br /> have the release from Middleton Electric that received payment form Ohio Casualty. Sarah is <br /> recommending paying the $3,000.00 that was held back to Ohio Casualty. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to pay the $3,000.00 back to Ohio Casualty. <br /> Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt, Peterson and Richardson all voted yes and <br /> none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Richardson seconded to go into executive session for the following <br /> agenda items. There are two reasons for an executive session to protect the public interest or to <br /> prevent needless harm or injury to an individual. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, <br /> Quandt, Peterson and Richardson all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 17.
