Steve stated that the Department of Road will open bids on the Federal Aid Bridge on Thursday and then award the bid. He will have the paper work for the next meeting. MATT WULLENWABER/MID AMERICAN BENEFITS DISCUSSION & ACTION ON HEALTH INSURANCE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020 — Matt Wullenwaber with Mid- American Benefits was present. Mr. Peterson thanked Matt for all of his help during the renewal process. Matt provided the board members with an overview of the renewal. The committee met several meetings and conference calls. The county did have a good renewal. He noted the following • Column U and V are the current carrier it takes into consideration the risks and risk management tools • The carrier is Berkley Life & Health they pay the claims are timely and get the reimbursements back • Contract terms are the same 12/18 • The annual plan maximum is unlimited because of ACA • The specific attachment had been at $60,000.00 but it is now at $65,000 so the county would assume an additional $5,000 this was used to gain premium reductions • The Aggregating specific is a risk management tool to reduce fixed costs if one person or more than one could use up to $100,000.00 then Berkley would take the rest of the risk • The lasers are set at a base and it narrows down the risk to specific diseases they are at $1.275,000 with 4 lasers it has come down since last year • This is a good renewal instead of spending $3.7 it was $3.3 • For the new contract renewal they are looking at a 7% increase maximum cost single coverage at $924.46 and family at $2,240.48 • The laser liability rarely comes in at the full cost it is normally about half of that risk Mr. Wullenwaber stated that they will be adding Tele Med to our program. It will be effective July 1st. This will provide access to a licensed physician 7/24 by calling on certain categories of diagnosis. A normal office visit is $80.00 to $200.00 but this is only $45.00 so it lowers the cost. It saves the plan money and is not a replacement it is an add on. It could prevent an ER visit Mr. Peterson noted that the county did approve the change in the behavioral exclusion. So that will be an amendment to the plan. Lancaster thanked him for his assistance.
