Lancaster questioned if they were going to buy two machines that were the same and Steve <br /> stated they use 2 machines on the same project. <br /> Quandt questioned if the specs were off of the caterpillar and Steve stated he used Casey's <br /> specs but based them on the equipment and used comparisons on all of the machines for the <br /> final specifications. <br /> Quandt stated he wanted to use the base bid and take off all of the options. He wants to make <br /> sure that it is the base bid. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to purchase the track loaders from Bobcat for <br /> $57,931.00. <br /> Hartman stated if the machines do not meet the specs why would you accept the bid and <br /> consider buying them. <br /> Richardson stated she agrees with Dick she ask what he would recommend. He is the road <br /> liaison. He suggested the John Deere machines from Murphy Tractor. There was a call asking <br /> to use a lower powered machine but you need to follow the specs. <br /> Riehle stated that the specifications were modified to match with all the other equipment. <br /> Discussion was held on the PSI and the horsepower. That is the difficult part of bids for <br /> government. He modified the specs to make it comparable to all of the equipment. Reviewed all <br /> of the machines. The 3,900 PSI is what he used for the specs. <br /> Bredthauer questioned the horse power required to run the attachments. Riehle stated that the <br /> horse power and the PSI are on different sheet on some of the information and different than <br /> the sheet he received today. He is not sure what is right. Discussion was held. <br /> Peterson questioned the warranty and if the purchase the warranties. Riehle stated that the <br /> machines have been leased in the past so they did not address purchasing warranties and sure <br /> if they were purchased in the past. He also noted the monthly rental rates range from $500.00 a <br /> month to $3,000.00 a month. The 2 leased machines cost $6,000.00 a year. Peterson <br /> questioned if there were rental hours on the used machines. Steve said 280 hours. He also <br /> noted the rental credit and rental cost. <br /> Hartman if they did not meet the spec they should have been thrown out. <br /> The vote on the motion to purchase the track loaders from Central Nebraska Bobcat at <br /> $57,931.00 was taken. Bredthauer, Lancaster and Quandt voted yes and Hurst, Hartman, <br /> Peterson and Richardson voted no. Motion failed. <br /> Hartman made a motion and Quandt seconded to purchase the track loaders from Murphy <br /> Tractor with the base bid of $60,900.00. Steve for $850.00 you get the cloth seat and backup <br /> camera is a safety plus. <br /> Richardson noted the Murphy base bid includes air & heated seat and self- leveling and top <br /> window. <br /> Mr. Riehle pointed out that the options from Murphy were all included in the base bid except for <br /> the back-up camera. Hartman stated that the back-up camera is a safety issue. <br /> 5 <br />
