DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING UPDATE FROM <br /> CENTRAL NE HUMANE SOCIETY AND THE HALL COUNTY CONTRACT (RICHARDSON) <br /> Richardson noted that at the last board meeting discussion was held regarding the contract and <br /> after make calls that issue was resolved. There is a current contract in place. There was an <br /> issue with the billing because the Humane Society did not send any invoices requesting <br /> payment but that has also been resolved and the claim is processed and will be paid. <br /> Angela Williams 306 Waldo Avenue requested to address the board she updated them on the <br /> cases and the number of calls. Jane stated that there were no calls in January or February this <br /> year. <br /> There was concern regarding the issues of calls during the flooding in March. Information was <br /> distributed to the board members regarding the Emergence Animal Plan that was put in place <br /> effective March 15, 2019 she also noted the actions that were taken on the subsequent days <br /> and include information on the city of Grand Island press release. They were not taking animals <br /> for other counties she had a call from Norfolk requesting assistance for 100 dogs. She noted <br /> that she contacted the Wood River Fire Department and left her contact number but did not <br /> receive any calls. <br /> Hartman stated that he heard that dogs and cats from Wood River were turned down. Angela <br /> stated that they did not receive any calls. They did not turn anyone away. <br /> Hust stated that as a police officer for 30 years the humane society has been very beneficial. <br /> They have the equipment and skill to handle the issues. <br /> Jill Hornday is on the board and stated that they have been under attack and provided <br /> information regarding the financials. The fund raising is up 52.8% and they have decreased <br /> expenses. The concern on the misuse of funds is no longer an issue. <br /> The have invited Jane and Butch to attend the meetings and will keep them well informed. She <br /> thanked the board for the support. <br /> 20. DISCUSS & APPROVE DATES AND TIMES FOR SPECIAL BUDGET MEETINGS AND <br /> SET TIME FOR FORMAL BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETINGS Stacey Ruziicka prepared <br /> the list of the budget meetings. The Board of Equalization meetings were scheduled for July 17, <br /> 18 and 19 but no times were set. Discussion was held and the following times were set <br /> Wednesday July 17, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. <br /> Thursday July 18, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. <br /> Friday July 98, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br /> The final action will be Monday July 22 at 9:00 a.m. and the budget meeting will be the same <br /> day in the afternoon. <br /> Bredthauer made a motion Quandt seconded to set the date for the Board of Equalization <br /> formal hearing for July 17 3 to 7 p.m. and July 18 3 to 7 p.m. July 19, 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br /> Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt and Richardson all voted yes and none voted <br /> no.
