9:20 A.M. Held a Board of Equalization meeting. <br /> 10:10 A.M. adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> 4A 9:30 A.M. (10:11 a.m.)PUBLIC HEARING ON POTENTIAL FOR LEASING LAND SOUTH <br /> LOCUST FARM — Quandt made a motion and Hartman seconded to open the public hearing. <br /> Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt and Peterson all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Richardson was absent. Motion carried <br /> Deputy County Attorney Sarah Carstensen stated that this public hearing is to see if the County <br /> Board wants to lease the property. She thanked Jason Smith and Rick Conrad for taking her to <br /> the property so it could be properly posted. There are steps that are to be followed regarding <br /> the notice of default of leased land. It is to be posted at the residence and on the lease <br /> property. They placed the notice on the gate to the property. She stated that they were able to <br /> reach the property and there is some farm equipment, a windrower and tractor that is still on the <br /> property. The first step is to gain possession of the land so it can be released to open up for <br /> bids. She stated they hoped to do this on April 2, 2019 but it has to go through the court <br /> system. She has not been able to reach Mr. Rainforth but notice has been served. <br /> Chair Lancaster called for public participation and no one responded. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to close the public hearing. Bredthauer, <br /> Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt and Peterson all voted yes and none voted no. Richardson <br /> was absent. Motion carried <br /> 4A DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON LEASING THE LAND — Ms. Carstensen aks if the <br /> County Board wants to lease the land. It is a nice piece of property the only problem is access <br /> to the land. By leasing the property there would be some revenue coming in. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to lease the South Locust property. <br /> The lease would be from March 1, 2019 to February 28, 2021. This is a three year lease. The <br /> bid opening would be April 16, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. <br /> The vote on the motion was held. Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt and Peterson <br /> all voted yes and none voted no. Richardson was absent. Motion carried <br /> 5A 9:45 A.M. (10:19 a.m.)PUBLIC HEARING ON POTENTIAL FOR LEASING LAND CAAP <br /> FARM - Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to open the public hearing. <br /> Bredthauer, Hartman, Hurst, Lancaster, Quandt and Peterson all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Richardson was absent. Motion carried <br /> Chair Lancaster called for public participation regarding the CAAP farm lease. <br /> Deputy County Attorney Sarah Carstensen stated that she met with the committee with options <br /> and it was decided to lease the alfalfa on this property. This would also be a 3 year lease and <br /> this would be the prime time for the alfalfa crop. <br /> Chair called for public participation and no one responded. <br /> 4 <br />
