D) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON PICKUP DAMAGE — Mr. Humphrey stated he had <br /> an accident with this pickup and he included the 3 estimates and pictures of the damage. <br /> Peterson ask if there was insurance coverage. This vehicle only has liability insurance on it. <br /> The bid from GI Body was the low bid at $3,548.85. <br /> Hurst asks if it has 100,000 miles on it if it was worth fixing. Loran stated this is the pickup they <br /> just put in a new transmission. It is cosmetic it was the right front fender and grill and the <br /> headlight. Loran stated it us used mostly at the park and they occasionally run into town. <br /> Peterson noted the head light would have to be fixed. Discussion was held. <br /> Quandt stated it needs minimal repairs so the headlight bucket could be fixed and the rubber <br /> can be glued back on. They can make reasonable repairs to make it road worthy. <br /> E) COURTHOUSE WINDOW UPDATE — Loran included an e mail regarding additional <br /> measuring for the custom made window at the Courthouse. The contractor would like to send a <br /> representative from the manufacturer to do additional measuring and they would charge <br /> $1,800.00 to come out for 2 days to take the measurements. <br /> Quandt stated we have accepted the bids and it would be their responsibility to do the <br /> measuring. The curved windows are the issue. The measurements have to be accurate. <br /> Quandt stated it is there job the general contractor should do it. <br /> F) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING THE CURRENT BID ON INTERIOR <br /> STEP REPLACE AT THE COURTHOUSE - the board received one bid for the interior <br /> Courthouse Stair restoration project and the bid came in at $153,400.00. Loran stated that they <br /> did not include the painting of the steps and refurbishing the area. <br /> Quandt stated that the contractors are busy with other large projects and suggested going out <br /> for bids after the first of the year. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to reject the bid from Mid Plains Construction <br /> on the stair restoration project and go out for bids in March 2020. <br /> Richardson expressed concern that the condition of the stair is a liability and we may not get <br /> any more bids. <br /> Peterson ask if there could be a bidders list and informs all potential bidders of projects. He <br /> suggested setting up an e mail site to send all bids to bidders. The board members supported <br /> this. <br /> Bredthauer stated that the Courthouse steps look pretty good compared to other older <br /> courthouses. She also stated that the bidders list was discussed at the purchasing act <br /> committee it is a great idea. <br /> Lancaster noted that people downtown take an interest in the older buildings. She noted that <br /> Tom Ziller did some work at the Courthouse and he stated that one of the biggest liabilities was <br /> the lighting and that has been addressed. It is posted to watch your step. There are a lot of <br /> other construction projects going on and she is in favor of waiting. <br /> 10 <br />
