County Assessor Kristi Wold stated that the bigger lots do have a percentage discount
but you cannot compare empty lots with a lot with improvements. The 1 acre size it
applied to all commercial and residential lots. She stated she is not sure why the
discount is applied to the one lot that is not improved.
Mr. Brostrom stated that this is a big equalization issue and does not know how this can
be justified.
Lancaster there was a developer discount on land that is not improved there was
decision where the property should range and may reflect the issues there are
discrepancies last year a number of other people came asking for a discount. They
were asking for a discount because the parking lot was facing the street not the
business but they are visible from the street. She stated that there is a commitment to
address all of these properties but it does not change this property. We expect people
to pay their fair share.
Lancaster motion for this this year, prior to the revaluation of this land, to set it at $1.07
a square foot. No seconded motion failed. She amended her motion to set the value at
$1.75. no second motion fails.
Bredthauer stated that the board received a recommendation from Mark Standard and
he has an appraiser's license. He recommended leaving the Proffitt property valuation
the same.
Bredthauer made a motion and Lanfear seconded to leave the Proffitt property valuation
the same.
Lancaster stated that Mr. Standard's decision was based on other issues and he did not
have the information that was presented today.
The vote on the motion to leave the valuation the same was taken. Bredthauer,
Lanfear, Quandt, and Schuppan all voted yes and Lancaster and Richardson voted no.
Arnold was absent. Motion carried.
4.
