Chairman Lancaster called for public participation regarding the exemption application <br /> and no one responded. Jan stated that they did receive a phone call regarding the <br /> notice and it was explained that the reason was because the property was for sale and <br /> not being used for an exempt purpose. <br /> No one responded. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lanfear seconded to close the hearing. Arnold, Bredthauer, <br /> Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted <br /> no. Motion carried. <br /> DISCUSS & TAKE ACTION TO REMOVE EXEMPTION FOR BETHPHAGE - Arnold <br /> made a motion and Lanfear seconded to remove the exemption application for <br /> Bethphage at 1327 Sherman Place. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 5. COUNTY ASSESSOR - APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS <br /> a. Central Nebraska Humane Society — Pelland stated that this is a piece of property <br /> that is adjacent to the Humane Society's existing property and they are now using it. <br /> This was filled during the time frame that is allowed. She has approved this exemption <br /> application as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and asking the county Board to <br /> approve. <br /> Pelland stated that the next 3 exemption applications are for Habitat for Humanity and <br /> they were denied before but they have now started the prep work on the properties and <br /> have building permits for the habitat homes. She is recommending approve as per <br /> 9p 9 PP P <br /> Nebraska State Statute 77-202. <br /> b. Grand Island area Habitat for Humanity (Evans Addition Blk 4 Lot 5) <br /> c. Grand Island area Habitat for Humanity (Evans Addition Blk 4 Lot 3) <br /> d. Grand Island area Habitat for Humanity (Evans Addition Blk 4 Lot 4) <br /> Arnold noted that these properties are on East 9th street east of the railroad spur. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve the exemption applications for <br /> Habitat for Humanity Evans Addition Blk 4 Lot 3, Lot 4 and Lot 5. Arnold, Bredthauer, <br /> Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted <br /> no. Motion carried. <br /> 6. DISCUSS & APPROVE 20 DAY EXTENSION FOR HOMESTEAD APPLICATIONS <br /> Pelland stated that this is the annual 20 day extension that it allowed by state statute <br /> From July 1 to July 20`h. This is for the homestead applications that were not received <br /> before the deadline. Jan stated that they have received two. They will be addressed at <br /> the next board meeting. <br />
