HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING MARCH 21, 2017 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Lanfear made a motion and Richardson seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Karen Bredthauer, <br /> Pamela Lancaster, Douglas Lanfear, Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Steve <br /> Schuppan. Also present were County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf and County Assessor <br /> Jan Pelland. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW — Chairman Lancaster read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION —The affidavit of public was received. <br /> MINUTES — Schuppan made a motion and Richardson seconded to approve the <br /> minutes of the March 7, 2017 meeting. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, <br /> Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no <br /> one responded. <br /> 4 EXEMPTION APPLICATION — FOR GRAND ISLAND AREA HABITAT FOR <br /> HUMANITY INC. UNION PACIFIC RAILWAY CO.'S 2ND, BLK 130, LOT 7 — County <br /> Assessor Jan Pelland stated that this exemption was denied February 21, 2017 <br /> because the property was not being used for an exempt organization. Since then she <br /> came across the demolition permit for the old house and the foundation for the habitat <br /> house has been started. She is requesting that the board rescind the motion from <br /> February 21, 2017 to deny the application and approve it. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Richardson seconded to rescind the motion from February <br /> 21, 2017 to deny the exemption application for Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity <br /> and approve the application. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Jan stated that this is one of the four lots and when the status changes on the other <br /> properties they can reapply for the exemption applications. <br /> 3. COUNTY TREASURER — Deleted exemption application didn't receive <br /> corrected information. County clerk Marla Conley stated that this application from CHI <br /> was placed on the agenda on Friday but there was more information needed for the use <br /> of the vehicle so County Treasurer Peg Pesek requested that it was pulled for the <br /> correction information and if it is received it will be on the agenda in two weeks. <br /> 5. DISCUSS & APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR REFEREE SERVICES FOR 2017 - <br /> County Assessor Jan Pelland stated that the agreement and the resolution appointing <br />
