HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING JANUARY 24, 2017 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Lanfear made a motion and Arnold seconded to go into a Board of <br /> Equalization meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE β€” Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Karen Bredthauer, <br /> Pamela Lancaster, Douglas Lanfear, Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Steve <br /> Schuppan. Also present were County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf and Board Assistant <br /> Stacey Ruzicka and County Treasurer Peg Pesek. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW β€” Chairman Lancaster read the notice of the open <br /> meeting law. <br /> VERIFY AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION β€”the affidavit of public was received. <br /> MINUTES β€” Richardson made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve the minutes of <br /> the January 10, 2017 meeting. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no <br /> one responded. <br /> 3. COUNTY TREASURER - DISCUSS & APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR <br /> a) IGLESIA DE DIOS EBENEZER FOR A 2009 CHEVROLET <br /> EXEMPTION PERIOD DECEMBER 1, 2016 TO JANUARY 31, 2017 <br /> b) GRAND ISLAND AREA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY FOR A 2014 HYUNDAI <br /> EXEMPTION PERIOD DECEMBER 1, 2016 TO JANUARY 31, 2017 <br /> County Treasurer Peg Pesek stated that these 2 vehicles were purchased in December <br /> so this exemption application would be for December 1, 2016 and would expire January <br /> 31, 2017, then they would be added to the annual renewal. Igelsia de dios Ebenezer, <br /> 502 E. Capital Avenue, Grand Island, for a 2009 Chevrolet passenger van to be used to <br /> transport people to and from church and retreats. She has approved this exemption <br /> application as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202. <br /> Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity, 502 W Second Street, Grand Island, for a 2014 <br /> Hyundai coupe this car was donated to be raffled off with proceeds being used for <br /> Habitat's work in the area. It will be driven to locations where raffle ticket will be sold. <br /> She has approved this exemption application as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202. <br /> She is requesting a motion from the County Board to approve. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lanfear seconded to approve the exemption applications for <br /> Igelsia de dios Ebenezer and for Habitat for Humanity. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, <br /> Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br /> carried. <br />
