Peg stated that she attended the Central District meeting and the treasurer's discussed <br /> the exemption applications and that there are a large number of applications and some <br /> are on older vehicles where the renewal fee is only $5.00. Discussion was held that if a <br /> vehicle is 14 years old it should not be exempt. They discussed changing legislation or <br /> asking NACO to support legislation. <br /> Lancaster noted that this has been discussed before and it would take a legislative <br /> change. She suggested trying to find a senator to support a bill and ask NACO for <br /> support. Peg stated that in January there were 260 exemption applications and now <br /> there are 285. Normally she does not receive any additional exemptions this time of <br /> year.
