Alfredo Diaz 382 North Adams, this is a house on West 9th street that is under renovations and
has been for an extended period of time. He protested this in 2013 and the inside of the house
is not done they did apply the 5% increase and left it on but lowered to $17,545. It will be
reviewed again next year.
Jan Pelland asked for a motion to accept the recommended values as provided on the
undervalued, overvalued and omitted property.
Purdy made a motion and Richardson seconded to accept the recommendations.
Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none
voted no. Motion carried.
Mr. Keith Brown was present and stated that there is a discrepancy with the NRD records and
he has contracted them. Pelland stated that because the two parcels are split there is a
difference between the acres on each parcel. They keep trying to be more and more accurate.
Mr. Brown stated that he gets the information from the tenant on the number of acres that are
planted and it is different than the NRD.
Mr. Purdy asked if the Diaz property will be reviewed next year and Pelland stated it will be.
APPEAL OF HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION REJECTION FOR DORIS FIELDGROVE
Ms. Pelland stated that the homestead preprinted applications are sent out in February and they
have until June 30th to file them. This application was filed timely and had the correct
documentation from veteran's affairs that she is receiving 100% compensation for disability. But
they received information that she had a different address and the owner must occupy the
property in order to receive the homestead exemption. The rejection letter was mailed to her
June 8, 2015 and it was returned and a second letter was sent to 1918 North Huston. They
received a letter July 31 requesting a hearing. The letter exceeded the 30 days.
Doris Fiedlgrove was present and stated her mail goes to Fort Kearney Road to her son. There
was a family transfer with the post office when he moved to Fort Kearny Road so she does not
get her mail. Mr. Lanfear stated that this happens and it is a computer issue.
Pelland stated that it would take a board override to rescind the rejection.
Lancaster made a motion and Quandt seconded to rescind the rejection on the homestead
exemption. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes
and none voted no. Motion carried.
Pelland stated she will process the homestead and the state will review it. They will call her with
the results.
NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS — Purdy asked if there were any penalties for 2015 and
Pelland stated no. No other new or unfinished business.
Returned to the regular meeting at 9:56 a.m.
f
f a
. a4 / ✓_ I' 'e
Marl- J.
