Lancaster asked what the address location was for the home. Stacey called the <br /> assessor's office and the address is 4111 New Mexico Avenue. Lancaster stated that <br /> this will fit the needs perfectly. <br /> The vote on the motion was taken. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> DISCUSS AND APPROVE LATE HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS FILED <br /> DURING THE 20 DAY EXTENSION — County Assessor Jan Pelland stated that these <br /> are the late homestead exemptions that were filed during the 20 day extension period. <br /> She has to deny the applications but the county board can override her denial and <br /> approve them. She read the following into the record: <br /> Marlene Hurley, 3120 W 18th, Grand Island, this was filed July 6, 2015 she stated that <br /> she has been bad health this year and she stated she mailed it on June 30th but it was <br /> not post marked until July 1st. She is requesting the board's approval. <br /> Connie Olivo, 410 East 11th Street, Grand Island this was filed on July 9, 2015 The letter <br /> was from Rose Ann Lopez her daughter and POA. She stated that Connie did not <br /> remember that she received the application and failed to let her know but she is <br /> requesting the board's consideration. <br /> Michael and Barbara Paulick, 307 East 20th Grand Island. This was received July 13, <br /> 2015 He stated that this is the first time he has filed an exemption and thought this was <br /> due in July instead of June. <br /> Ofilia Arellano, 903 East 5th, Grand Island this was filed July 17, 2015. She stated that <br /> she has been sick and had surgery so she was not able get out. She stated her <br /> daughter is her caregiver and her son is her POA and they did not get the papers filed. <br /> Ms. Pelland stated that she has to deny the applications but is asking the Board of <br /> Equalization for a motion to approve the exemptions that were received during the 20 <br /> day extension. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the homestead exemption <br /> as read. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all <br /> voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> TAX CORRECTION NOTICES Ms. Pelland stated she had one tax correction notice <br /> #4962 and she is requesting the county board to receive and the Chair to initial the <br /> correction. <br /> Purdy made a motion and Schuppan seconded to receive and authorize the chair to <br /> initial tax correction notice #4962. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried <br />
