COUNTY ASSESSOR JAN PELLAND UPDATE ON VALUATION ACTIVITY— County Assessor <br /> Jan Pelland distributed information to the board members regarding the valuation changes that <br /> were made on the listed subdivision and the rural subdivision ranging from 10% to 20% they <br /> reviewed the parcels that were valued for partial completions in 2013 and revalued for current <br /> completion. They also did the annual permit pick-up work for new construction and remodels. <br /> On the commercial property the continued to review the pictometry aerial data, completed <br /> physical inspections and reviewed parcels valued for partial completion and revalued for current <br /> completion. They also did the annual permit pick-up work. <br /> TMs. Pelland stated that the ag-land was raised by 40% and this was based on the preliminary <br /> statistics. With the increase she is at 72% and it should be at 75%. <br /> The protests and cards are ready to go and the schedules are set for the referee's to start the <br /> informal hearings on June 16" <br /> Mr. Quandt questioned what happened in other counties and Ms. Pelland stated that the <br /> valuation went up all over the state they are still seeing big sales. She noted that the valuation <br /> in Clay County went up 59%. <br /> Mr. Schuppan questioned if they use just Hall County values or borrow values from other <br /> counties. Ms. Pelland stated that they sometimes borrow from surrounding counties to equal <br /> out the sales. If she had not raised the ag values the state would have ordered another show <br /> cause hearing. <br /> Ms. Pelland stated that they have been successful with the negotiations with JBS and will <br /> confess judgment.
