HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING JUNE 3, 2014 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Ziola made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go into a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Pamela Lancaster, Bob <br /> McFarland, Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, Steve Schuppan and David Ziola. Also present were <br /> Chief Deputy County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf, Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka, County <br /> Treasurer Peg Pesek, and County Assessor Jan Pelland. <br /> Chairman McFarland called the meeting to order. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW—Chairman McFarland read the notice of the open meeting <br /> law. <br /> MINUTES —Ziola made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve the minutes of the May 20, <br /> 2014 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes <br /> and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman McFarland called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> COUNTY TREASURER— DISCUSS AND APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS FOR THE <br /> FOLLOWING: <br /> 1. MID PLAINS CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CARE SERVICES FOR A 2003 <br /> DODGE VAN <br /> 2. GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF GREATER NEBRASKA INC FOR A 2002 UTILITY SEMI <br /> TRAILER <br /> 3. HALL COUNTY C/O SENIOR CITIZENS INDUSTRIES INC, FOR TWO 2014 BRAUN <br /> HANDICAP VANS <br /> Deputy County Treasurer Alaina Verplank was present and read the exemption applications. <br /> Mid Plains Center for Behavioral Health Care Services, 615 North Elm, Grand Island for a 2003 <br /> Dodge caravan to be used to transport clients to and from services. County Treasurer Peg <br /> Pesek has approved this application as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202. <br /> Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska, Inc. 1804 South Eddy Grand Island for a 2002 Utility <br /> semi trailer to be used for hauling and collecting donations that support our disability programs. <br /> County Treasurer Peg Pesek has approved this application as per Nebraska State Statute 77- <br /> 202. <br /> Hall County % Senior Citizen Industries Inc., 304 East Third Street, Grand Island for two 2014 <br /> Braun Handicap Vans to be used to provide public transportation of the elderly, handicapped <br /> and general public within Hall County. County Treasurer Peg Pesek has approved this <br /> application as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202. <br /> Ms. Verplank is requesting that the board approve these exemption applications. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the exemption applications for Mid <br /> Plains Center, Goodwill Industries and Senior Citizens. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, <br /> Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br />
