APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR CRISIS CENTER FOR 2 TRAILERS —Crisis <br /> Center Inc, 2251 North Webb Road Grand Island to be used for floats in parades, and to <br /> transport the silent witness display and booth materials. She has approved this application as <br /> per Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is requesting the County Board's approval. <br /> Ziola made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the exemption applications as read. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Purdy was absent. Motion carried. <br /> DISCUSS &APPROVE NOTICE REGARDING TAX EXEMPT VEHICLES—County Treasurer <br /> Peg Pesek discussed this notice at the last meeting. She read a letter signed by Bud Jeffries <br /> that was sent to applicants for motor vehicle exemptions requesting that the agency name or <br /> description be visible on vehicles. The notice that she is proposing to send out was reviewed by <br /> Mr. Zittertcopf and she read the notice. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Ziola seconded to approve the notice concerning the use of <br /> exempt status vehicles. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Purdy was absent. Motion carried. <br /> COUNTY ASSESSOR—APPROVE 2014 PERMISSIVE CONTINUED USE EXEMPTION <br /> APPLICATIONS —County Assessor Jan Pelland presented the list of the continued use <br /> exemption applications there were a total of 184 real property exemption and 18 personal <br /> property exemptions some of the real exemptions may also include personal property. <br /> DISCUSS AND TAKE ACTION ON 2014 NEW PERMISSIVE EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS— <br /> County assessor Jan Pelland presented the list of the exemption renewals. She stated that <br /> First Faith United Methodist Church combined two applications into one. The church is at 4190 <br /> West Capital Avenue and the parsonage is at 1319 North Cedar. She presented the following <br /> new exemption applications for the board's consideration: <br /> • Iglesia Evangelica Pentecostes the church and personal property <br /> • First Faith United Methodist Church for the church and parsonages <br /> • Grand Island Area Habitat for Humanity three properties that they plan to build homes on <br /> • Boggs & Hills Add Blk 6 Lot 12; 3 lots at Wheeler& Bennett's 3rd Addition Blk 79 Lts <br /> 8,9410, Lamberts Add Blk 36, LT 1 & 2 <br /> • Church of God of Prophecy West Lawn Lt 119 for a parsonage this had been rented out <br /> but is now being used as a parsonage <br /> She has approved these exemption applications as per Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is <br /> requesting the County Board's approval. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the exemption application as <br /> presented. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Purdy was absent. Motion carried. <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION REGARDING LITIGATION STRATEGY—Ziola made a motion and <br /> Lancaster seconded to go into executive session regarding litigation strategy. This executive <br /> session is to protect the public interest. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Quandt, Schuppan and <br /> Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Purdy was absent.
