HALL COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEETING JULY 16, 2013 <br /> 9:05 a.m. Quandt made a motion and Ziola seconded to go into a Board of Equalization <br /> meeting. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE — Present on roll call vote were Scott Arnold, Pamela Lancaster, Bob <br /> McFarland, Daniel Purdy, Gary Quandt, Steve Schuppan and David Ziola. Also present were <br /> Deputy County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf and County Assessor Jan Pelland and County <br /> Treasurer Peg Pesek. <br /> NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING LAW— Chairman Lancaster read the notice of the open meeting <br /> law. <br /> MINUTES—Quandt made a motion and Ziola seconded to approve the minutes of the July 2, <br /> 2013 meeting. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes <br /> and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> COUNTY TREASURER —APPROVE EXEMPTION APPLICATION FOR AMERICAN <br /> NATIONAL RED CROSS FOR A 2012 DODGE CARAVAN —County Treasurer Peg Pesek <br /> presented the exemption application for American National Red Cross 404 East Third Street, <br /> Grand Island for a 2013 Dodge Caravan to be used to respond to fires and other disasters and <br /> to travel to health and safety classes and general transportation related to the Chapter. She <br /> recommended approval under Nebraska State Statute 77-202 and is requesting the board to <br /> approve. <br /> Ziola made a motion and McFarland seconded to approve the exemption application for <br /> American National Red Cross. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and <br /> Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 9:10 A.M.COUNTY ASSESSOR - HEARING FOR OVER AND UNDERVALUED PROPERTY- <br /> Purdy made a motion and McFarland seconded to open the hearing. Arnold, Lancaster, <br /> McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> County Assessor Jan Pelland distributed the list of the property valuation changes. She sends <br /> a notice to the property owners and a legal ad is published regarding the hearing. She is <br /> requesting a motion to make the changes on the under or overvalued properties. <br /> Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one responded. <br /> Arnold made a motion and Quandt seconded to go out of the hearing. Arnold, Lancaster, <br /> McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> McFarland made a motion and Purdy seconded to approve the property valuation changes as <br /> per the list provided by the County Assessor. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, <br /> Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br />
