Lancaster made a motion and Quandt seconded to request County Attorney Sarah Carstensen
To review the process for the by-law change and come back in two weeks.
Richardson noted that this is to look at the agencies process.
Arnold noted that if we are not happy with the change in the by-law we still have the ability to
keep that person. The vote was 7 to 1 so all of the other counties were in favor. If we do not
agree would that remove us from the interlocal agreement? That may cause problems to obtain
the Older American Act dollars and would anyone else accept Hall County.
Lancaster expressed concern that they only had the changes for 24 hours it should be 30 days.
No one has referred this to their boards. No one saw this and we do not know the process.
The vote on the motion to review the process was taken. . Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster,
Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
Arnold noted we all support senior citizens it is about personalities and not about the functions
of the agency. We need to make sure the funds are received and protect MAAA and protect all
senior citizens in other counties.
10. COUNTY CLERK—A) 10:15 A.M. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt,
Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried.
Chair Richardson called for public participation and Mr. Wieck was present. Richardson
thanked him for taking over the golf course and noted that it was falling into disarray.
Mr. Wieck stated that his entire family is working on this. They had the opportunity to purchase
the course and keep it open. They will have leagues starting in the spring and will have darts,
pool tables and fosse ball tables. They are attempting to keep it open year round. They are
also offering a free ride home to the patrons. This is a 9 hole golf course. Mr. Wieck stated
they will be working to upgrade the course in the future.
Quandt ask when the golf course started and Mr. Wieck stated in 1967.
