Acts as County Coroner and ascertains cause and manner of death. Attends crime scenes and <br /> must be able to walk up to one mile over broken ground in all types of weather. <br /> Mentoring subordinate employees. <br /> Performs related work as assigned. <br /> DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS <br /> Thorough knowledge of constitutional law, state statutory law, City and County ordinances and <br /> accepted court interpretations of the same. <br /> Skills in the use of modern office equipment including personal computers and related <br /> peripheral, facsimile machine, and photo copying equipment. <br /> Considerable knowledge of judicial procedures and rules of evidence and court rules. <br /> Considerable knowledge of the organization, functions and legal provisions affecting the <br /> operations of County departments. <br /> Ability to analyze, appraise and organize the facts, evidence and precedents concerned in cases; <br /> and to present such material orally and in writing in clear and logical form. <br /> Ability to analyze cases for their value as legal precedence, and to determine which case the <br /> County should appeal and on which grounds the appeal should rest. <br /> DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE <br /> Graduation from an accredited College of Law and considerable experience in municipal or <br /> county legal research and trial work. <br /> MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br /> Graduation from an accredited College of Law, experience in municipal or county legal research <br /> and trial work, or any equivalent combination thereof. <br /> SPECIAL NECESSARY REQUIREMENT <br /> Licensed to practice law in the State of Nebraska. <br /> Reside within 30 minutes of the office. <br />
