occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate and auto and property damage limits of$1,000,000 with <br /> umbrella coverage of$5,000,000. A certificate or certificates of insurance substantiating such <br /> coverage for demolition activities shall be delivered to the County prior to the <br /> commencement of the work. <br /> Each bidder must inform himself or herself fully of the conditions relating to the construction <br /> of the project and the employment of labor on the project. Failure to do so will not relieve a <br /> successful bidder of his or her obligation to furnish all material and labor necessary to carry <br /> out the provisions of his or her contract <br /> Contractor shall take all responsibility for the work, shall bear all losses resulting to him or <br /> her on account of the amount or character of the work, or from any unforeseen obstructions <br /> or difficulties which may be encountered, or because the nature of the land in or on which the <br /> work is done is different from what is assumed or was expected, or on account of the <br /> weather, floods or other causes; then he or she shall assume the defense of, and indemnify <br /> and save harmless owner from all claims of any kind arising from the performance of the <br /> contract. <br /> Examination and Investigation. The contractor in making up his or her bid, shall examine <br /> these instructions, attachment"A,"the bid form, and the form of the contract, which shall be <br /> considered part of these specifications, and the building site and windows to make himself or <br /> herself thoroughly familiar with all the requirements. If the contractor should need further <br /> information, or in his or her opinion discover any errors, he or she shall obtain such <br /> information as he or she requires from the County before making up his or her bid, since no <br /> additions to the contract price will be allowed after bids have been submitted and accepted. <br /> At the time of the opening of bids each bidder will be presumed to have inspected the site <br /> and to have read and be thoroughly familiar with the bid and contract documents (including <br /> all addenda). The failure or omission of any bidder to examine any form, instrument or <br /> document shall in no way relieve any bidder from an obligation in respect of his or her bid. <br /> Applicability of Laws and Regulations. The bidder's attention is directed to the fact that all <br /> applicable state laws, municipal ordinances and the rules and regulations of all authorities <br /> having jurisdiction over construction of the project shall apply to the contract throughout, and <br /> they will be deemed to be included in the contract as though written out in full in the <br /> contract. <br /> Execution of Agreement and Bond. Upon receipt of written notice of acceptance of the bid, <br /> the successful bidder will execute the formal contract attached within twenty(20) days, and <br /> within that time deliver certificate(s) of insurance and a surety bond or bonds as required <br /> above.
