The roads that are being considered for the spring 2019 resurfacing include (16 miles):
• 13th Street west of Engleman Road. (2 miles)
• Airport Road west of Webb Road (2 miles)
• Bismark Road west of Gunbarrel Road (1 % miles)
• Barrows Road east of US Highway 34/281. (0.5 mile)
• Engleman Road south of Husker Highway. (1 mile)
• Gunbarrel Road between US Highway 34 and Seedling Mile Road. (3.5 miles)
• Husker Highway west of US Highway 30 (2 '/ miles)
• Old Potash Highway west of Alda Road. (2 '/ miles)
• Shady Bend Road south of Capital Avenue (1/2 mile)
The budget I submitted shows $920,000 for Bituminous Surfacing and $145,348.14 of
Federal Funds Purchase Program (buy back dollars) for asphalt resurfacing. If approved,
it would allow $1,065,348.14 for asphalt resurfacing in fiscal year 2018-2019. We
generally do around half of the resurfacing work in the fall and the other half in the spring.
I'm shooting for around If the resurfacing dollars are reduced during the budget process,
we'll reduce the size of the spring 2019 asphalt resurfacing. The last 3 years we've
averaged $1,033,000 of asphalt resurfacing.
Recommendation
Approve the list of roads for the fall 2018 resurfacing and set the bid opening for the fall
2018 asphalt resurfacing for Tuesday, August 21st at 10:00 a.m.
L:51-boeit Pihk
Steven P.
