Ms. Muirhead stated they called for new board members and did have 2 apply and they were approved. She encouraged others to come forward. The services to the county are important and she does not want these issues to get in the way. She stated that in April they netted $31,000.00 and she has no concerns that the will continue to operate. They have had a line of credit in place since she came on the board. Emily Beck, Hastings, Nebraska stated that she has worked as a vet's assistant for 2 years and stated concern that the finances are a problem. She does the ordering and expressed concern that they did not have enough supplies to care for the dogs so she reached out to the vendors requesting donations of the flea and tick treatments for the animals. The vendors supplies about $13,000.00 worth of products and she did not receive any thanks from the board. The staff knows what they need to do every day and she cannot see the shelter closing. They need to work together and there needs to be some improvements. Chasity Cross Executive Director noted that the Humane Society is a non-profit company. The contract is important. They need to look at every program to be aware of what needs to be improved. They serve Hall County and the other villages they make sure that the officers are trained and make sure the reports are filed and animal care is important. Operations are important but animal care is higher and they look for ways to improve their services. Some 6
